Acupuncture is only one aspect of what is often termed “Oriental Medicine”. Another component is the use of Chinese herbs. Classical Chinese herbology is a powerful and complementary partner to acupuncture. A good herbal practitioner, studied in the ancient Chinese method, chooses herbal combinations from hundreds of diverse herbs to meet the specific needs of each patient. The herbs would then be dispersed in raw, pill, or granule form.

Another vital component is the practice of physical arts, such as Tai Ji, Qi Gong, and meditation. Powerful physical exercises taught specifically to the patients capabilities can be learned. These exercises have been scientifically proven to help treat and prevent disease, and are valuable tools for self-medication. In this chaotic and busy world we live in, having as many tools as possible to remain balanced and healthy is essential.
